The African Art Exhibition was the culmination of a year’s outreach work with Winchmore Art staff and our partnership primary schools in the area.  The theme ‘Africa’ formed our focus due to our student leadership links with a Mpopoma High School in Zimbabwe (through the British Council ‘Dreams and Teams’ programme).  Each Winchmore Art teacher was linked to either, Raglan, Raynham, Oakthorpe, Highfield or Firs Farm School.  Over several months they worked closely with the Art coordinator and the pupils to create exciting work in a variety of media. The exhibition was a celebration of the pupils’ creativity and the success of the ‘outreach’ work.  Many visitors commented on the quality and range of the pupils’ 2D and 3D products. The pupils themselves were enthused by seeing their work displayed in an exhibition seen by their peers in other schools.
